What to do after taking pictures for your assignments.
The following instructions show you how to import your photos from the memory card. These instructions show you how to import your photos from a folder already located on your hard drive.
You should be saving the photos to your computer. You should be using the same computer (the one assigned to you) every day now, because if you swap computers, your photos will not be there (if saved correctly).
If you share a camera, the quickest way to share those images is to load them to our network drive. Go to This Computer > DTVNews > Digital Photo 2014-2015 > Student Folders > then find your name and create a new folder, labeled with the date and the shoot (can be shortened). This is the easiest way to find these files later on if you need them.
DO NOT EDIT PHOTOS FROM THE NETWORK DRIVE. Right now, working with JPEGs, you won't really notice lag if you do but, when you move into raw workflow, you will. There are more opportunities for things to go wrong working from a network drive, so don't. Instead, copy the files from your network drive to your local drive, and then import the photos into Lightroom.
