Click the T-Rex for a guide to exporting a LR5 catalog

I'll be wiping the laptops after Friday, May 29th. Make sure to bring a flash drive in order to back your images up. If you're planning to save not just your JPEGs, but your raw files as well (that's what I'd do), then it'll need to be relatively large (an external hard drive is fine to bring in as well).

If you plan to continue taking pictures after this class (and/or are signed up for my classes next year), make sure to save your Lightroom 5 catalog. If you don't know how to do that, ask me to help you.

You should be nearly done shooting by this point. After Tuesday, I'll be taking an inventory of our equipment to make sure everything is here. This means that you will not be taking the cameras out after Tuesday. You should be working on editing your images and creating your portfolio by then.

Finally, any borrowed gear needs to be back by Tuesday, May 26th. If it's not returned to me by then, I'll be writing stop cards for the replacement cost.

I'll be taking pictures and doing video for Honor's Day today (that's why you have a sub), so you should be working on editing. If you don't have photos to edit, then work on compiling your final portfolio (see instructions below).
Remember, you need to watch the video, which will take a little while, so use your time wisely. Also remember that you need to choose at least one, but no more than two images from each of the 12 shooting assignments, and you need 30 images total for your portfolio, so you'll need to shoot anywhere from 6 to 18 images in order to complete the assignments.
Finally, don't forget to return your textbook (sooner, rather than later).

Assignment 10 - Bokeh

Next week we won't have a lot of time in class due to ACT testing, so I'm giving you the assignment early so that you can go ahead and get started (especially you, sophomores and juniors). Also, since our extra speedlights haven't come in (limiting how many people can work on Assignment 9 at the same time) and since we have only 4 prime lenses, you're going to have to use your time wisely and plan ahead in order to complete your assignments on time.

Assignment 10 is due on Friday, May 1st.

Assignment 9 - More Flash Practice (Bounced Flash)

Keep in mind we only have 2 speedlights, so you're really going to need to make sure you're using your time wisely; you won't have the luxury of taking a speedlight out three or four days in a row in order to get all 5 of your shots.

Some of y'all have expressed interest in photographing your collectibles or other school stuff around your house. This is a topic we'll be covering in much greater depth in DPII, but for now, here are a couple of articles about basic still life photography at home.
